Presentation by
Dr Alexander Sweetman

Dr Alexander Sweetman (PhD) is a Senior Program Manager at the Australasian Sleep Association, chair of the ASA psychologist education committee, and has academic status at Flinders University. He has expertise in insomnia, co-morbid insomnia and sleep apnoea, and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi). Dr Sweetman’s research program aims to understand the causes, consequences, and most effective treatments for co-morbid insomnia and sleep apnoea (COMISA), and to implement better management approaches throughout the healthcare system. He is also interested in improving access and use of CBTi. Since 2019, he has led primary care implementation work to improve access and use of evidence-based sleep disorder resources by GPs, psychologists, nurses, and pharmacists.​​​​​​​
